Maun / Botswana

I can’t tell you what makes Maun special. I guess nothing in particular. It’s the gateway to Okavango Delta, the spot tourists get their needs and a place to relax before heading in either directions. Somehow i got stucked here for quite awhile. However, i enjoyed to camp outside of town, had interesting talks on the car wash, had a laugh with the lovely staff and a good time with some other travelers. Sometimes it was just quite and chilled, while another time people swarmed in or a crocodile just showed up next to the camp. Tomorrow i leave for Moremi Nationalpark. Stay tuned!

Ob Maun irgendwas spezielles hat, kann ich nicht sagen. Nicht wirklich, denke ich. Klar, es ist das Tor zum Okavango-Delta, der letzte Ort zum Einkaufen, bevor die Touristen in irgendeine Richtung weiterziehen. Irgendwie bin ich hier eine ganze Weile hängen geblieben. Der Camping ausserhalb der Stadt ist auch toll gelegen. Ausserdem hatte ich interessante Gespräche an der Autowaschanlage, lustige Momente mit dem Personal hier und gute Zeiten mit anderen Reisenden. Manchmal war’s aber einfach nur ruhig und entspannt, dann wieder kamen Reisende angeschwärmt or ein Krokodil gleich neben dem Camp sorgte für Abwechslung. Morgen aber geht’s weiter in Moremi Nationalpark. Bleibt dran!
