Visiting Daressalam

Soon as i found a nice camp on southern beach of Daressalam i met new interesting people too. Some travelers i met before on my trip trough Africa or i made new acquaintances, with whom i went to city of Daressalam. There are some touristic spots with art and handicrafts, a national museum with old presidential vehicles and streets with shopping centers, hotels and good Indian restaurants.

Most impressive was the new build „Human Dreams Children Village“ south of the city. The people taking disabled kids to give them not only a home but also treatment for their difficulties. Among many projects in Africa, with this one, at least a few human beings with no chance for future got a place to survive and experience a worthy life.

Namibia Selfie Project

Being a tour guide for my parents was a completely new thing. It brought me a whole bunch of experiences and challenges too. At the start i did a selfie with my crappy cellphone at train station for remembering reason and posted it on Instagram. I repeated it at airport. Somehow i liked it and went on picturing my parents in this selfie style throughout our trip in Namibia. It became a collection of selfies of our journey.

Diamond Ghost Town Kolmanskoop

It’s a ghost city near Luederitz. Wind blows trough shattered windows, brings sand in, carry old dreams away. Diamonds were found here, and still get found in these area. Tourguides tell about the old days, about the incredible wealth they experienced here, about the lucky ones and the harsh circumstances for collecting those shiny stones.

Exploring Istanbul / Istanbul entdecken!

Die Hagia Sophia, der Topkapi Palast, die Brücke übern Bosporus …aber Istanbul ist weit mehr als die bekannten Touristenziele der Metropole. Kreuz und quer durch die Stadt gehend lässt sich mit offenen Augen und der Kamera in der Hand so einige überraschende Momente einfangen!

The Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace or bridge over Bosporus are nice …but there is much more what Istanbul has to offer. The soul lies deep in the alleys and hidden in the nightlife of that amazing city. With open eyes and heart and the Nikon in the hand there are maybe some moments of the city to capture.
