Winter In Turkey: Cesme

Winter in Turkey impressions #15: Cesme is a small, nice town at the coast near Izmir. A travel friend lured me there, so we could meet again, having nice diner and i got a safe overnight spot at the port. Next morning i realized this place was rich on history too. So i went for short walk to get some more impressions.

Winter In Turkey: Kas and Demre

Winter in Turkey Impressions #5: A friend from Istanbul spent some times in Kas. I followed his invitation and he kindly showed me around in the area. One of the highlights was also the Church of Saint Nicholas from Demre, the real ‚Santa Claus‘, who was kind to children and gave them gifts.

Sweden – Stockholm

In Stockholm i bumped into the Pride Parade unexpectedly. I spent long time to watch them passing by and photographing. Watch the photos from that event, which i posted earlier:

The Pride Parade in Stockholm

But of course i visited also the world famous Vasa Museum and the old town of Stockholm.

Norway – Stroll trough Bergen

It’s maybe one of the most famous town in Norway: Bergen.

A pretty busy place, where many cruise ships stops. Famous not only for the fish market, but also for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bryggen. I extend my stroll bit around town, just to get some more impressions before i left it again.

Within The Mighty Walls of Akko

Akko, also known as Acre, has a rich history for around 5000 years. Many folks and and groups fought for it, because of its strategic location at the sea with a calm bay.

However, who is interested in history, please use the link provided (as usual 😉 )

My first day in Akko startet with a little breakfast surprise from my host. After that first coffee i was ready to explore the strong city walls and the areas within.

In the morning i found it quite empty. Happily, i walked around, found some small alleys, walked trough the market or watched the kids playing soccer between the mighty walls. Sometimes a stop for a coffee or a small bite. Just enjoying myself and imagine the life in times of the crusaders…

Arriving Zanzibar

Zanzibar! The island who draws many picturesque fantasies in our mind. For long time i refused to visit that pricey island, but gave in my curiosity. Stone Town, the first steps on the island, got me immediately. The mixture of culture and architecture, narrow alleys and open ocean, sea breeze and spicy scents, sunburned tourists and smiley locals.

Take a look on my first impressions…
